"The Curl"
Hawaiian Fine Art Landscape Photograph by Lijah Hanley.
Maui, Hawaii- I really wanted to get a shot of a curling wave at sunrise on our trip to Maui, which sounds a lot easier than it is. Using an underwater housing, I purposely put myself in the break zone and got slammed a couple dozen times. I didn't have too much luck the first couple of days, so I went back again for a third sunrise. Right after this shot was taken, this wave which was a lot bigger than it looks, came crashing down, smashed me on my head, and continued to twist and roll me underwater, finally squishing me into the sand resulting in a bloody lip and nose. I came up on the shore to review my screen, and saw that I finally got the shot.
Chromaluxe Metal Prints: These prints represent a new medium in photographic printing. Using a specialty process, we sublimate ink directly into a sheet of light reflective Chromaluxe aluminum. Due to the luminescence of the metal surface, the finished product has a brightness, vibrancy, and a clarity to it that cannot be rivaled with any other printing technique. Chromaluxe prints are so luminous, that they almost appear backlit. In addition to the striking finish, metal prints are guaranteed to last for a century without noticeable fading, are scratch resistant, waterproof, and all come with sleek aluminum hanging hardware on the back of the print for seamless hanging. The final piece will hang an inch and a half away from the wall. Chromaluxe prints represent the best quality prints in the industry and are the perfect modern art piece for any home.
Fine Art Paper Prints: All of our fine art paper prints are printed onto a Moab Entrada Museum Rag paper. This paper is a thick fine art paper with a matte finish, that allows for exceptional detail, and fade resistance. These prints come rolled in a tube, and will require additional framing.
